Brittany Mahomes captured a heartwarming moment between her daughter Sterling and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
On Tuesday, the 27-year-old mother of two shared an endearing video on her Instagram Story as Patrick, also 27, prepared to leave for football training camp. "Say bye bye daddy!" Brittany prompts Sterling. "Bye bye daddy," the toddler sweetly echoes.
"I love you," Brittany encourages her daughter to say. "I love you," Sterling repeats.
"Blow him kisses," Brittany instructs Sterling, who obediently blows kisses as her father's car drives away from their home.
"Sending @patrickmahomes off to camp," Brittany captioned the video.
Brittany and Patrick are parents to daughter Sterling and 7-month-old son Bronze. The couple has been married since 2022.
Earlier this week, Patrick spoke with CBS Mornings about his involvement in Netflix's "Quarterback" and discussed how he values advice from his peers, applying it to his own family.
"I actually talked to Peyton [Manning] about it for a while," Mahomes shared. "What stuck with me is he said, 'At the end of my career, I wish I would have done it so my kids could’ve seen what I was doing every day.'"
Mahomes emphasized the impact of this comment, especially now that he has two kids of his own.
"When my kids grow up, I want them to see that dad wasn’t just gone for the sake of it. I was away working hard to build something, to be great. So, when they're older, they can see how hard I worked," he explained.
Mahomes expressed his desire to serve as a role model for his children. "I want to be someone that my kids can look up to and say, 'Hey, I want to be like Patrick Mahomes,'" he said. "And I want parents to think, 'Hey, that’s a guy I want my kid to emulate.' That's how I approach the game."
In June, the Mahomes family of four enjoyed a trip to Hawaii, where Sterling had the opportunity to swim with dolphins. Brittany documented the exciting experience by sharing videos and photos on her Instagram. Initially, they observed the dolphins from a bridge over the water, and Sterling joyfully exclaimed, "I see the dolphins!"
Later, they joined a trainer in the water for a closer encounter. Brittany shared a Polaroid photo where she held Sterling as a dolphin swam nearby, capturing a priceless family memory.
