"UMI" Sculpture by Daniel Popper in Lisle, Illinois

Artist Daniel Popper presents "UMI" at The Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois, USA. This sculpture, part of the Human+Nature exhibition opening at the arboretum, holds special meaning as "UMI" translates to "life" in Swahili and "mother" in Arabic. It stands as one of five new installations unveiled today.

The Earth Mother sculpture is surrounded by Virginia Creepers, with Popper anticipating their growth to complement and transform the artwork over time in this picturesque setting. Standing at 20 feet tall and crafted from steel and Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC), "UMI" will be on display for a year, inviting visitors to interact with and appreciate its beauty.
