"We initially had no idea he was a canine," shared Carrillo, an employee at Shoreline Pipes in Texas, with The Dodo. "We backed up and saw him." The dog was found with his mouth taped shut and restrained with tubing, clearly abandoned to a grim fate.
Without hesitation, Carrillo and his companion rushed to free the distressed animal. "He seemed alright," Carrillo recounted. "He was very affectionate and enjoyed the attention. He likely hadn't been there long."
The compassionate plumbers swiftly transported the dog to Peewee’s Pet Fostering, a nearby no-kill shelter. "Just look at that expression," Carrillo remarked, noting the dog's evident gratitude for being rescued. "He knows he was saved!"
Despite being diagnosed with heartworms, the dog was in overall good health, and treatment was promptly initiated. "His tail hasn't stopped wagging," reported a spokesperson from Peewee’s Pet Fostering. "He's an absolute sweetheart."
Although the heartless individual responsible for abandoning the dog was never identified, the actions of the plumbers ensured the canine received a second chance at life. Now, all he needs is a forever home filled with love and care.
