Patrick Mahomes objected to NFL Films after a video surfaced showing him celebrating in the locker room shirtless, citing concerns about setting a good example for children

Super Bowl 58 will mark Patrick Mahomes' fourth appearance in the NFL's premier game within six seasons as a starting quarterback. Widely regarded as the top quarterback in professional football, Mahomes is typically associated with success and excellence on the field.

However, public perception isn't always within his control, particularly when it comes to media portrayal by the NFL. A recent video released by NFL Films/Inside the NFL showcased the Kansas City Chiefs' postgame locker room celebration following their AFC championship victory. During the clip, Mahomes was seen speaking to teammates without wearing a shirt, a common sight in the immediate aftermath of an NFL game.

Despite this being a standard postgame scene, Mahomes became aware of the footage circulating on Twitter and felt it depicted him in an unfavorable light, even jokingly referring to his physique as a "dad bod." Clearly, Mahomes was taken aback by the attention the video received, especially given his role as a father.

In response, Mahomes humorously addressed NFL Films, reminding them that, indeed, he is a parent – a reality that naturally influences his physical appearance.
