Serena Williams shares a light moment at her sister's expense.
In a recent TikTok video, Serena playfully teased her sister Venus Williams' bewildered reaction during Serena's gender reveal for her second child. As Serena cuts into the cake, an excited Venus can be seen in the background, enthusiastically jumping and clapping. However, when the cake's interior appears yellow, Venus appears confused, depicted with floating equations on the screen.
"The greatest part of the reveal was watching #venuswilliams in the background," Serena captioned the post, accompanied by various hashtags such as #funny, #comedy, #tiktokviral, #shocking, and #funnyclip.
Serena and her husband, Alexis Ohanian, along with their 5-year-old daughter, Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr., announced they were expecting another girl in a more elaborate gender reveal, including a drone, shared on Serena's YouTube page.
This isn’t the first time Serena has light-heartedly joked about her pregnancy. In May, she shared a picture on Instagram jokingly pondering whether her baby was positioned in the front or back.
Serena's pregnancy journey has been marked by challenges, including life-threatening complications after the emergency C-section birth of Alexis in 2017. Despite these difficulties, Serena and Ohanian feel more prepared this time around, having navigated parenthood once before.
“We’re not first-time parents anymore. I feel more confident about having a newborn, all of those things that I just had zero confidence about with Olympia because I’d never even been around babies at that point in my life,” Ohanian shared with People in July.
Reflecting on her previous pregnancy in her HBO documentary series, "Being Serena," Serena recounted the harrowing experience, including a pulmonary embolism and a blood clot in her leg, which nearly cost her life.
“I can’t believe how much went wrong on the way to meeting her,” Serena expressed. “I almost died.”
