All eyes were on Serena Williams as she graced the court adorned in sparkles during her final U.S. Open appearance before retirement on Monday night.

The 40-year-old tennis icon dazzled in a black diamond-encrusted Nike dress, symbolizing her six championship victories at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, New York. However, Williams revealed in a post-match interview that four layers were removed due to the dress's weight.

Complementing her attire, Williams sported NikeCourt Flare 2 shoes featuring a diamond-studded Swoosh and a solid gold shoelace tag adorned with 400 hand-set diamonds, a creation in collaboration with Serena Williams Jewelry.

In the stands, Williams' 4-year-old daughter, Olympia, donned a matching ensemble to cheer her mother on. With braids and beads styled in her hair, Olympia echoed her mother's winning hairstyle from her first U.S. Open victory in 1999.

Earlier this month, Williams bid farewell to professional tennis in a heartfelt essay published in Vogue, making the 2022 U.S. Open her final professional outing.

Throughout her illustrious career spanning nearly three decades, Williams has secured 23 major single titles, a record in the Open era for both men and women.

Williams clinched victory in her first-round singles match against Montenegrin player Danka Kovinic on Monday night and is set to face WTA No. 2 ranked player Anett Kontaveit on Wednesday.

Additionally, Williams will team up with her sister Venus Williams for the women's doubles tournament, a title they've won twice together. The women's doubles tournament kicks off on Aug. 31, with the Williams sisters slated to take on Czech players Linda Noskova and Lucie Hradecka in the opening round.

Known for her bold on-court style, Williams continues to make fashion statements while letting her game do the talking.
