'Serena Williams: The Undisputed GOAT of Women's Tennis,' Asserts Mouratoglou Despite Court's Grand Slam Success

Patrick Mouratoglou, the former coach of Serena Williams, has unequivocally declared the legendary American as the greatest female tennis player of all time. Having coached Serena during her illustrious career from 2012 to 2022, Mouratoglou praises her unmatched achievements despite falling short of the overall Grand Slam record held by Australian tennis great Margaret Court.

While acknowledging Court's impressive record of 24 Grand Slams, Mouratoglou emphasizes that Serena's legacy as the greatest female tennis player is justified due to her extended and dominant presence in the professional circuit, classified as the Open Era. Serena's remarkable career spanned nearly three decades, during which she secured 23 Grand Slam titles in singles.

Mouratoglou points out that Court's record was established during the Amateur Era, where tennis was not a professional sport, and only 11 of her major victories came during the Open Era. The coach asserts that comparisons between the two eras are not valid, and Serena's accomplishments in the modern, professional tennis landscape solidify her status as the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) in women's tennis.

Taking to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Mouratoglou emphasized that the title of the greatest player, whether male or female, should be determined by numbers, with Grand Slam victories serving as a crucial metric in assessing their greatness. He firmly concludes, "Serena is the GOAT of Women's tennis."
