Serena Williams Offers Glimpse of Hidden Room in Family Residence

Serena Williams shared a playful moment with her daughter Olympia, engaging in a lightsaber battle inside their Miami home on Wednesday. The tennis pro posted a video on Instagram, showcasing the fun encounter with the four-year-old, both armed with two light-up toys each in the living room. In the background, a secret doorway is subtly revealed, leading to Serena's concealed karaoke room.

The ordinarily flush blue bookshelf against the wall was ajar, offering a glimpse into the entrance of the hidden space. Past glimpses of the karaoke room have shown a small stage with aquamarine velvet chairs, a home bar, and a neon sign reading 'Sérénade,' although these details were not visible in the latest video. Instead, an abstract painting by the sports star adorned the wall, contributing to the family's home gallery of artwork.

Discussing her home's design with Architectural Digest, Serena explained her choice of having an art gallery with a fireplace and a transparent piano instead of a formal living room. She revealed, "Most homes actually have a formal living room, and I didn't want to lose that aspect, but I also didn't want a formal living room."

Serena's family home was designed with help from sister Venus

Serena, her husband Alexis Ohanian, and their daughter Olympia reside in a modern home in Miami, designed with assistance from Venus' interior design firm, V Starr. The house features a trophy room, an infinity pool, and a wine cellar described as "the size of a small NYC apartment." Serena emphasized that her husband had no involvement in the design process at the time, stating, "We had just met, and I wasn’t going to be like, ‘Hey, let’s do this together.’ That would have been really weird for him."
